1Greenmarket Square is a historical square in the centre of old Cape Town. The square was built in 1696, when a burgher watch house was erected.
2 Built in 1878, the spire of the Central Methodist Mission church and sanctuary dominates one end of Greenmarket Square.
3Iziko Old Town House Museum is the former City Hall (the Old Town House), which was built in 1755 in the Cape Rococo style.
4 Over the years, the square has served as a slave market, a vegetable market, a parking lot and more recently, a flea market trading mainly African souvenirs, crafts and curios.
9 The entrance to the Anglican St George's Cathedral, who's foundation stone was laid in 1901, which replaced a church built in 1834 on the same site.
10 At the start of the appropriatley named Goverment Avenue, which is a pedestrian thoroughfare, you will find the Houses of Parliament.

15 The garden was originally created in the 1650s by the region's first European settlers and provided fertile ground to grow fresh produce to replenish ships rounding the Cape.

28 The Tiger's Milk Kitchen/Bar has plenty of ice cold beers that will help quench ones thirst. They don't do a bad feed either.

41 I wandered over to check out the Owal Mosque and found some interesting architecture in the adjacent Bo-Kaap neighbourhood area. When was the last time your saw cobblestone streets??
42 At the very end of the street you can see the Owal Mosque, constructed in 1794 and recognised as the first mosque established in the country, but I was attracted to the brightly painted period houses that surrounded the mosque.
